Glebe Cottage itself sleeps up to 4 people. It has a large sitting room, with open fire and television, a kitchen with both an aga and an electric hob and oven, microwave and dishwasher, table and chairs.
One king sized double bedroom with ensuite bathroom is downstairs (wheelchair access is available). There is also a separate downstairs lavatory and shower room and back door area with washing machine and pulley for wet clothes.
Upstairs there is a large double bedroom, with a zip link large double, or if you prefer two single beds, with its own bathroom.
Outside it has its own small walled paved garden. Standards are high - full central heating, unlimited hot water - and its cosy.
Parking is in the grounds of the Old Rectory, and its private gardens surround Glebe Cottage.
Journey times to Penrith Keswick Cockermouth and Carlisle are all under half an hour, but if the excellent village shop cannot provide your needs Wigton, a market town, is fifteen minutes north.
Dogs are welcome downstairs, if they don't upset George the Old Rectory cat. Your dog will enjoy the walking and is allowed in the Caldbeck Odd Fellows Arms, as well as the Hesket New Market Old Crown Inn, a 40 minute river walk away, or a mile by road. This pub exudes charm and not least because it has its own micro brewery producing a range of beers, all bearing the names of local hills in the Northern Fells.
We are open all year. Bookings are usually from Fridays, for a week, or a long weekend, or by arrangement.
We provide sheets and towels.
Prices. From £350 low season to £700 high season. If there are only 2 of you and you do not use the upstairs bedroom the rate is reduced to £200 low season and £500 high season.
