January 2008 - the state of the roads around Dalston

Dalston Parish Council has written to the Chief Executive, Cumbria County Council, with a copy to Eric Martlew MP regarding the current state of the roads in the Parish. This follows a report to the Highways Hotline, highlighting the damaged signs and the worst of the many potholes in the road surfaces. It was suggested that Cumbria County Council should undertake its responsibility for maintenance of the highway network with greater diligence. Some repairs were requested as a matter of urgency as the lack of response to date was portraying Cumbria County Council in a bad light and putting the Dalston community at a higher level of risk. Please support the Parish Council in its efforts to try and get something done by reporting any defects to the Highways Hotline 0845 609 6609 or contact@cumbriahighways.co.uk
