Dalston was host to the Eden Valley Cycling Club’s Veterans 100 mile cycle ride. 40 plus riders completed the ride which started at the Recreational Centre and included a southern loop to Mungrisdale, lunch at Dalston, followed by a 50 mile northern loop to the Solway coast. Ages ranged from 50 to 78. Ronnie Auld presented the riders with their certificates. Competitors came from many areas of the country and were impressed with the scenery (and weather!) and admired our facilities in Dalston (but not so sure about some of our road surfaces). The club were very grateful for the co-operation of the playgroup and brownie leaders who were also using the excellent Recreational Centre.
