Official Opening of 25 and 26 The Square, Dalston
Chairman of the Parish Council, Ronnie Auld officially opened the recently refurbished Mitre Housing Association properties in Dalston on the 20th of October 2009.
Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd were the main contractors for the project. Day Cummins Architects were responsible for the design and Donleys acted as Quantity Surveyors.
The properties have been completely refurbished and extended, bringing the homes up to present day standard whilst retaining some of the original charm. The improvements also respect their historic significance having cruck frames, and being possibly the oldest remaining houses in Dalston.
The total scheme cost for the project is £235,485 paid for with grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency along with Private Finance provided by Mitre Housing Association.
The two cottages were bequeathed to Mitre Housing Association by Margaret Inglis
thereby ensuring that the properties will be available for rent for local people. |
