An excellent cast has been assembled for Chechov's 'Uncle Vanya' to be performed by Dalston Dramatic Society in March 2009. In the cast are Richard Looker, Sandy Denwood, Andy Abernethy, Sally Ord, Pauline Dalton, Marion Noble, Mark Davidson, John Allen, and Terry Nichol. Ian Turnbull is the producer.
The translation is by the present-day playwright, Michael Frayn. It is to be performed in costume, and is a powerful drama about relationships, ageing, unfulfilled ambitions, and the human condition in general.

Performances are on the Thursday, Friday & Saturday, the 26th, 27th, & 28th of March at 7.30 in the Victory Hall.

Tickets are obtainable from The Corner Shop, The Bakers, Sue Nichol (tel 01228 711956), or any Society member. As the number of seats is limited and people had to be turned away at our last production, buying tickets in advance is strongly advised.
