Dalston Festival 2008 Art Exhibition

The first event of the 2008 Dalston Festival was the art exhibtion which was officially opened by Ronnie Auld, Parish Council Chairman, at 10.30am.

The exhibition of around 100 pictures is sponsored by Dalston Art Group, which has 25 members, of which 14 live in the Parish. Many of the artists belong to other groups and some enjoy great success, selling their pictures across Cumbria and the Lake District.

Many of the members exhibit their work in Carlisle Cathedral, Upfront Gallery and around Penrith. Liz Walsh has just sold 3 paintings on the first day of the Lakes Artist Exhibition, one of the most prestigious in the county.

Below is a selection of pictures on show in the Victory Hall.
