Saturday 4th 
Scarecrow Competition Begins (scarecrows to be exhibited all week).
Entry forms are needed in ASAP (available from Post Office or Judy Rickerby 710947)
Programmes will be available from The Victory Hall where teas will be served all day Sat & Sun along with an Art Exhibiton by Dalston Art Group.
Umbrellas for Peace and The Way We Were Exhibition to be held in Dalston Methodist Chapel, includes rug making & flower display. £1 entry.

Sunday 5th
All of the above plus a Gala Day, organised by Dalston Recreation Association, including the opening of the new building. 2.00pm start with the official opening at 3.00pm
Dalston Bowling Club and Dalston Tennis Club will be holding open Days for everyone to go and have a go.

Monday 6th
Quiz night to be held in the new Recreation Building 7.30. Teams of 4 needed £10 per team including Nibbles plus a Bar. To book a team call Yvonne Harland 711789.

Tuesday 7th
Dalston Male Choir will perform a concert in St Michaels Church7.30 start. £6 entry on the door.

Wednesday 8th
Football Competition held by Dalston Black Reds at the Rec Field, arrangements to be confirmed.
Dalston Gardening club are holding an evening with Val Corbett (photographer with Cumbria Life) at The Victory Hall

Thursday 9th
Village Treasure Hunt & Picnic. 6.00pm onwards starting from The Cockrell. It will be split 2 sections so that you can choose to do the first half only or the full treasure hunt. Picnic at the end – providing your own food will be in the jubilee garden or the recreation building if it is wet.

Friday 10th
Festival Friday! Dalston Line Dancers, John Waughs accordion Band, Lune Valley Jazz Band, Children’s Entertainment, Stalls, teas by Dalston Bakery, Blue Bell Barbecue. Starting at 6.00pm in the square.

Saturday 11th
Parade of Floats followed by the Popular Barracudas Carnival Band.
Starting from Caldew School at 1.00pm then heading into the village down Nine Riggs into Low Moorlands round by Station rd through the village & into the show field!
Any body interested in entering a float can contact Suzanne Brown on 712813 & please feel free to turn up on the day in fancy dress to join the parade.

Festival Dance on the show Field with the Leroy Johnston Band.
9.00pm start £6 entry on the door. Parking available on the show field.

Sunday 12th
A thanksgiving service will be held in St Michaels’s Church at 10.30am
