The Dalston website has been asked by the Parish Council to carry out a special consultation on the management of Dalston cemetery. The cemetery and churchyard are of great importance to the people of Dalston but recently the PC has been asked to consider changing the type of managment which it used whereby an area of the churchyard has been left unmown until the autumn, primarily for the conservation of wildlife. Futhermore, part of the central area is not cut as intensively as the new cemetery, again as an aid to wildlife.
Some residents have commented that the old churchyard looks untidy and would prefer for it to be cut with the same frequency as the closely mown cemetery area.
You can complete the consultation form below. The results will be collated and considered by the Parish Council early next year.
